Banks can, under conditions and in civil matters, invoke banking secrecy in order not to identify suspected counterfeiter

Brussels, 16/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - German legislation cannot allow banks to use banking secrecy unconditionally in order to refuse to disclose the details required for criminal investigations against suspected counterfeiters, Advocate General Pedro Cruz Villálon told the Court of Justice of the EU in his conclusions presented on Thursday 16 April (case C-580/13).
