05/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - Cooperation programmes signed with Liberia and Congo Brazzaville. On Tuesday 3 March, the national indicative programmes establishing the framework for development cooperation between the EU and two ACP (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific) states - Liberia and Congo Brazzaville - were signed in Brussels. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the high level conference on Ebola, which was attended by Liberia's President Ellen Johnson, Congo's President Denis Sassou-Nguesso and European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica. Liberia is one of the three West African countries affected by the Ebola epidemic and will receive an envelope of €279 million for the 2014-2020 period, as part of the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) financial protocol of the Cotonou agreement between the EU and the ACP countries. Congo Brazzaville will receive an envelope of €103 million. (Aminata Niang)
