27/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - General Court of the EU upholds Commission decision on France Télécom retirement pensions system. In its judgment on two cases (T-135/12 and T-385/12), the General Court ruled that France had granted France Télécom state aid compatible with the internal market, in accordance with the conditions laid down by the European Commission (see EUROPE 10520) and dismissed the actions brought by the company itself and by the French government. In 2011, the Commission called on France Télécom to model its level of contributions on that of its competitors in France, building in provisions for certain risks, such as a guarantee of payment of wages in the event of bankruptcy.
