Brussels, 04/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - Poland has become the leader among EU member states in the use of the funding assigned to culture, particularly through the effective use of funds from the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme, Cohesion Funds and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
On 3 February at its premises in Brussels, the European Parliament inaugurated a photo exhibition, “New Space for Culture”, which illustrates in practical terms, how funds are used. Bogdan Andrzej Zdrojewski MEP (EPP, Poland) inaugurated the exhibition and explained: “The financial framework 2007-2013 was extraordinary fruitful for Polish culture… EU structural funds were used efficiently and in a coherent way when it comes to their geographical repartition and the subsidised domains, which is not easy to organise”.
The Polish delegation to the European Parliament was pleased to point out that the overall sum of the subsidies exceeded 2.25 billion PLN, while the total value of all the projects amounted to nearly 4 billion PLN. As a result, a net of investments was created, the influence of which goes far beyond the state borders and allows to take a look at culture as a growth factor.
The exhibition can be seen until 6 February. (IL)
