Brussels, 30/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 27 January, the European Commission and Seoul announced that processed organic products certified in the EU or in South Korea can be sold as organic products on either of these markets, with effect from 1 February. Until now, a separate certification procedure was required, entailing additional costs, inspections and administrative formalities. The European and Korean organic markets have been put at more than €23 billion together. “This is good news for over 200,000 organic farmers in the European Union, as well as for the tens of thousands of businesses in this sector”, commented the European Commissioner for Agriculture, Phil Hogan.
