19/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - Lars-Gunnar Wigemark is new EU representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina. On Monday 19 January, the Council appointed Lars-Gunnar Wigemark from Sweden as EU special representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina and head of the EU delegation to Sarajevo. Wigemark will take up office on 1 March and will replace Peter Sorensen, who has been in the post since 1 September 2011. Wigemark, 54, is currently head of the EU delegation to Pakistan - a post he has held since February 2011. He has been a diplomat for 30 years and has worked in Washington and Moscow, among other places. He has also been head of unit for security policy at the European Commission. (CG)
