05/11/2014 (Agence Europe) - Independent expert soon to be appointed on EULEX Kosovo corruption affair. An independent legal expert will soon be appointed so as “to review the [EULEX Kosovo] mission's mandate implementation, with a particular focus on the handling of allegations of corruption”, said High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini at a press conference on Tuesday 4 November. This expert will be chosen “in the coming days”, she added. The expert's task will comprise assessing how the investigation into the corruption allegations is conducted and if there are any structural problems in the way the whole European EULEX Kosovo mission works.
