Italy must change its tax regime for games of chance

Brussels, 23/10/2014 (Agence Europe) - By taxing winnings from games of chance obtained in the EU, whilst such winnings are tax-free on Italian territory, Italy is guilty of a discriminatory restriction to the freedom to provide services, the Court of Justice of the EU concluded, in a verdict (joined cases C-344/13 and C-367/13) returned on Wednesday 22 October.
