Brussels, 14/10/2014 (Agence Europe) - Morocco and the companies involved in the project to construct a solar electricity plant producing 2000 MW of electricity (including an amount reserved for export to Europe), are pleased with the results from the ongoing financial examination that seeks to cover construction costs for the Noor II and Noor III plants (Ouarzazate, phase II).
Noor II and III are part of the Ouarzazate Concentrated Solar Power Complex (CSP), whose entry into service will be phased in as from the end of 2015. It will provide (over three phases) 500 MW in cumulated electricity production. The first construction phase, (Nour I) (for 160 MW), is expected to be completed by summer 2015. The overall cost is estimated at $9 billion. (FB)
