26/09/2014 (Agence Europe) - WSJ says Commission will soon back Facebook's acquisition of WhatsApp. On Friday 26 September, the Wall Street Journal reported that the European Commission is about to unconditionally authorise social network Facebook's acquisition of instant messaging service WhatsApp. The deal is worth $19 billion. It was announced by Facebook in February and endorsed by the US competition authorities in April. The Commission has until 3 October to decide on the matter. (EL)
