Brussels, 28/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - Three more Balkan countries have joined the EU's Creative Europe programme: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The three countries signed an agreement with the European Commission on Wednesday 23 July, which will allow cultural and creative organisations from these countries to apply for subsidies, cooperate with their European Union counterparts and receive assistance for translating literary works as part of the European programme framework. They will also be able to cooperate with European networks and platforms working in the cultural and creative domain, and benefit from exchanges of know-how and participation in exchanges of collections. Bosnia and Herzegovina will take part in both the Culture and MEDIA sub-programmes of Europe Creative while Montenegro and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will initially only take part in the Culture sub-programme. Serbia and Albania signed similar agreements on 19 and 24 June last. (IL)
