Brussels, 28/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Presidency trio - Italy, Latvia and Luxembourg - published a joint statement on Friday 25 July, in which they pledge to pay particular attention to digital innovation as an opportunity for growth and employment. The three countries, which will hold the Presidency of the Council of the EU successively, have pledged to put together a common position on the Connected Continent legislative package and on the cyber-security directive. The Italian Presidency has announced that it intends to lay the foundation stone for Europe to speak with one voice on internet governance, a dossier which it will hand over to Latvia and then Luxembourg.
