PACE calls for increased independence for ECHR judges

Brussels, 27/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - 47 judges of the European Court of Human Rights (one for each member state) are elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for a term of nine years, after having been put forward as candidates by their countries of origin.
