27/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - Mad cow disease found in Romania. A case of mad cow disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy or BSE) was detected in Romania last month, confirms the World Animal Health Organisation in a notification of 20 June. This is the first time that a head of cattle infected with the disease has been discovered in Romania. The animal has been slaughtered and protective measures have been introduced, including a restriction on the transport of animals within the country....
