Brussels, 27/06/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Moroccan agricultural associations are not backing down and are continuing their attack on the compromise reached last week on the fruit and vegetables dossier. They confirmed this information, stating that they plan to take action at the European Court of Justice over the measures adopted by the EU in April and which enter into force on 1 July. The complaint will be submitted before 15 July, according to the media of the country.
“At our last Council meeting, a unanimous decision was made by all of the stakeholders of the sector to defend the interests of Moroccan agriculture”, said the vice-president of the inter-professional fruit and vegetables federation (Fifel), Amine Mounir, quoted on Friday by the weekly newspaper Tel Quel.
The Spanish associations, which are the most affected, also declined to say much, but intimated that they would not be backing down either. EUROPE will return to developments in the Euro-Moroccan fruit and vegetables dossier in greater detail. (FB)
