Brussels, 14/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - On 19-23 May, Arlington (Virginia) will host the US and EU negotiators for the fifth round of negotiations for a transatlantic trade and investment partnership agreement (TTIP).
The experts will continue their technical work on nearly all the chapters of the future agreement - in particular on trade in goods and services, investment, regulatory issues, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, public procurement, intellectual property, electronic trade and telecommunications, sustainable development (environmental standards and work standards), SMEs, competition policy, and energy and raw materials, said a Community source close to TTIP on Wednesday 14 May. Although the issue of investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) remains on hold while the consultation process is completed that was committed to by the European side to determine its position on this very controversial issue, the issue of state-state dispute settlement will be discussed.
