The European Council regulation of 7 March 2014 on arrangements for renewing national authorisations of biocidal products subject to the mutual recognition principle by member states will enter into force. On 6 May, the Council of the EU decided, without debate, not to formulate any objections to this text, which complements European legislation governing the marketing and use of biocidal products (Regulation 528/12/EC has been applied in the EU since 1 September 2013). Entry into force of the text is scheduled for 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal. (AN)
