Brussels, 05/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Ukrainian government, led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenuk, will go to Brussels on 13 May to meet the Commission, including its president José Manuel Barroso, to assess the EU's support measures to Ukraine, the European Commission announced on 5 May.
“The European Commission is determined to help Ukraine and to make sure that Ukraine has all the support it needs, in the short and long term, to undertake the political and economic reforms that are necessary for the country, with the common objective of a democratic, independent and prosperous Ukraine”, said the Commission's spokesperson, Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen. The Commission announced an aid plan of €11 billion for Ukraine on 5 March (see EUROPE 11032).
The foreign affairs ministers will meet on 12 May and Ukraine is likely to be the focus of their discussions. (CG)
