Brussels, 05/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - On 29 April, the European Commission launched the “Watify” platform to help promote entrepreneurship in Europe's digital sector. There are many people with novel ideas in the European Union but many of them hesitate when it comes to putting them into practice, due to the lack of information, states the Commission. It says only 6% of the EU population have launched their own start-up companies, as opposed to 13% in the US. Launched in collaboration with specialists from the Deloitte Belgium ICT specialists, DIGITALEUROPE and EBN, Watify seeks to remove obstacles to starting up digital businesses by providing candidates with solutions for overcoming the financial and practical obstacles preventing them from their putting ideas into practice. Entrepreneurs who have already created businesses in more traditional sectors will also find information for developing their businesses through digital technologies thanks to the “Watify” initiative.
