25/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - WME and IMG's acquisition of Silver Lake gets go-ahead. On Thursday 24 April, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of WME Entertainment, LLC and IMG Worldwide Holdings, Inc. by Silver Lake Group, L.L.C., all of which are US companies. IMG is a major provider of sports consulting, multimedia rights management, events management and talent representation to companies and individuals. WME is a talent-spotting agency providing representation and advice to clients in sectors including film, television, music, literature, theatre and public speaking. Silver Lake is a global leader in technology investing, with over $20 billion in combined assets under management. The Commission says the deal does not raise competition concerns because the parties' market shares in areas where they have related activities are limited. (EL)
