On Friday 25 April, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of Terex Corporation Limited (UK), by Volvo Construction Equipment AB (Sweden). Terex Equipment manufactures and sells articulated frame and rigid frame off-highway dump trucks. As its name suggests, Volvo Construction Equipment is active in the construction equipment sector and manufactures and sells a wide array of products, including articulated frame off-highway dump trucks. According to the Commission, the proposed acquisition does not raise competition concerns, because the potential overlaps in the production and sale of construction equipment and articulated frame dump trucks are very limited.
