High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton heard of the Korean Sewol ferry accident off the island of Byeongpoong “with great sadness”, said Ashton's spokesperson. The ferry, which was transporting 460 passengers, sank near the south coast of South Korea. The current count is of 6 people who have died and nearly 280 people who are still reported missing. (CG)
