Brussels, 17/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - The EU and Morocco have agreed to launch discussions on 23 April on access conditions for fruit and vegetables to the European market, a Moroccan source states.
On Wednesday 16 April, a telephone call between Morocco's Minister for Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch and European Commissioner for Agriculture Dacian Ciolos enabled the objective to be set for this meeting of “re-establishing balance in trade between Morocco and the EU as negotiated in the agricultural agreement binding them”, the same source stated. The Moroccans oppose the measures adopted by the Council on Monday which regulate third country access to the EU market for fruit and vegetables. (FB)
