Brussels, 16/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN), which organised a forum, funded by the European Commission, on Saturday on “mobilising civil society in the follow-up to relations between Tunisia and the European Union”, has taken note of participants' demands to develop real “transparency”.
According to the EMHRN, participants highlighted “the importance of the partnership between Tunisia and the European Union being balanced and based on human rights”. They also said that this relationship would require that “bilateral relations become more transparent, particularly with regard to the systematic consultation of civil society organisations on implementation and evaluation of the EU-Tunisia 2013-2017 Action Plan and financial cooperation”.
“Workgroups” were set up on Women's Rights; Justice; Migrants' and Refugees' Rights; and Economic and Social Rights. (FB)
