Strasbourg, 16/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - MEPs, unhappy that the discussions with the Council had not been concluded, decided, on Wednesday 16 April, to send the draft regulation seeking to facilitate vehicle re-registration when moving to another European country, back to the Parliamentary committee. The EP committee on the internal market will re-evaluate the situation after the elections, as sought by rapporteur, Toine Manders (ALDE, Netherlands). Before the vote, he stated that “if the Council did not want to simplify life for three million citizens re-registering their cars each year and if the British press writes complete lies five weeks before elections we cannot do our democratic work”.
