Brussels, 13/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 13 March, the European Commission unveiled nine new technical rules for introducing measures from the CRD IV bank prudential rules.
The Commission has been instructed to work on a hundred or so technical standards, based on the work of the European Banking Authority and consultations with the financial industry in order to draw up a uniform body of rules to be applied homogeneously across the EU.
Thirteen rules have been published to date, including one for identifying bank staff whose job impacts on the risks taken by the employer and therefore is covered by the bonus cap (see EUROPE 11031). One of the rules unveiled on Thursday specifies the securities, along with shares, that may be given by banks as part of a bonus package.
Other technical standards cover the way national supervisory bodies and market stakeholders are to submit information about certain securitised products, measuring potential losses on derivatives or as a result of counterparty default. (MB)
