Brussels, 05/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - Around ten member states have reportedly submitted their official partnership contract proposals outlining the way in which they intend to work with the European Commission to obtain EU structural and investment funds. There is just over a month and a half left for the other two thirds of member states to submit their proposals.
So far, the Commission has already examined nine official partnership contracts from Poland, France, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, Slovakia, Finland in Germany. These proposals develop the strategies pursued by the member states to optimise the use of the money made available to them as part of EU cohesion policy and the way in which they work with the different authorities, civil society and NGOs.
The 19 remaining official partnership agreement proposals have to be submitted to the Commission by 22 April, so that all the agreements can be signed by the summer and programme funding can begin. (MD)
