05/03/2014 (Agence Europe) -Commission introduces 83% of European Court of Auditors' recommendations. In a report published on Tuesday 4 March on the follow-up of the European court of Auditors' Special Reports for 2012, the court explains that the European Commission follows up and properly implements a large majority of the court's recommendations and that “this has contributed towards improving financial management in a number of areas of the EU budget”. The court assessed the action taken by the Commission in response to the court's 62 recommendations, and found that 83 % were fully implemented or implemented in most respects, 12% had been implemented in some respects, and 5% had not been implemented at all. The review also showed that the Commission has proper guidelines and procedures in place concerning its follow-up activities. (LC)
