10/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Rudus East-Lujabetoni. On 10 February, the European Commission authorised the creation by the Finnish companies Rudus East Oy (production and sale of construction material in Finland, Estonia and Latvia) and Lujabetoni Oy (production of concrete and related construction products) of a joint-venture which will produce and sell ready-mixed concrete products in the St Petersburg area in Russia. The Commission concluded that there were no competition problems, particularly because the joint venture has no actual or foreseen activities within the territory of the European Economic Area. The operation, which was notified on 16 January of this year, was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (FG/transl.fl)
