26/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - EIB - €600 million for education and training in Nord-Pas de Calais (France). A firm €600 million commitment in favour of education and youth training was announced on Monday 25 November 2013 by the Région Nord-Pas de Calais and the European Investment Bank (EIB). A first €100 million loan instalment out of the total €600 million for that operation was signed by the two institutions. The project aims to support the region's education and environmental policy with, in addition, the infrastructure that is necessary for vocational and technical training of quality. It will also allow energy efficiency in buildings used for the training/education programme to be improved. The operation concerns 74 general, professional and technical secondary schools, in parallel with the implementation of three cross-cutting investment operations (accessibility, ICT, catering, etc.) in educational establishments in the region.
