Brussels, 13/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - Vice-President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship Antonio Tajani is due to sign three agreements with the Burmese authorities to strengthen cooperation on industry, business and tourism.
After visiting Vietnam (see other article), Tajani will continue his Mission for Growth tour of South-East Asia with a trip to Burma/Myanmar, where he will participate in the start of the task force's work on 13-15 November. The task force is chaired by High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton (see EUROPE 10961).
During his visit to Burma/Myanmar, Tajani will meet Burmese President Thein Sein, Nobel Peace Prize winner and President of the National League for Democracy Aung San Suu Kyi, and several ministers (the President's office, Industry, Tourism, and Mines). He will sign three agreements with the Burmese authorities - on SMEs, tourism and raw materials. (EH/transl.fl)
