On 23 October, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of Molex Incorporated of the United States, which designs, manufactures and sells electronic components (connectors, cable systems, interconnections, ports and the like) by Koch Industries of the United States, which specialises in the supply of fibres, water filtration systems, pollution control, fertilisers, consumer products, building materials and fuel for transport, heating, air conditioning). The Commission says that since the parties' businesses do not overlap, the merger (notified on 25 September) will not raise competition issues.
