BusinessEurope promotes mutual recognition

Strasbourg, 23/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - BusinessEurope is stressing mutual recognition so that the singlel market works well because that allows products authorised in one member state to be sold in other countries without let or hindrance.

At a European employers' conference in Vilnius on 15 October, arranged with the Lithuanian Presidency, BusinessEurope set out ways of ensuring more effective mutual recognition: - raising awareness and improving the provision of information to companies on their rights and obligations; and - ensuring full implementation, correct application and strong enforcement of EU legislation and engaging all relevant parties in making the single market. BusinessEurope says that he mediation website for cross-border problems, SOLVIT, and the Internal Market Information System (IMI) are good ways of getting the single market to work better.
