Brussels, 15/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - Next Thursday in Tallinn, Estonia, during the TEN-T open days, the European Commissioner for Transport, Siim Kallas, will present the new maps showing the 9 major infrastructure corridors in the future Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The projects in these corridors will receive funding of €26 million for transport, as part of the next Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 and the Connecting Europe Facility. The nine corridors form the spinal cord of the central TEN-T network that will be implemented between now and 2030. Each corridor covers at least three member states, two cross-border sections and three modes of transport. The conference at which the maps will be unveiled will take place on 17-18 October. A thousand or more transport experts will be taking part, including around twenty European transport ministers, MEPs and senior executives from major transport groups. (MD/transl.fl)
