On 10 September, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to acquisition of British company CBS Outdoor, which provides outdoor advertising posters and related services in Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, by US company Platinum Equity LLC, specialising in mergers, acquisition and management of service providers in a number of domains (including telecoms, logistics, IT, metals, retail and manufacturing). The Commission says that the deal, notified on 7 August, does not raise competition concerns because the parties' businesses do not overlap in the European Economic Area.
