11/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - Obama nominates Luzzatto Gardner to replace Kennard as ambassador to the EU. US President Barack Obama has nominated Anthony Luzzatto Gardner to the post of US Representative to the EU, with the rank of ambassador, to succeed William Kennard. The nomination must be confirmed by the US Senate. Educated at the universities of Oxford and Harvard, Columbia University Law School and London Business School, Gardner has worked in the financial department of Palamon Capital Partners in London since 2007. Gardner, who has also worked in DG Competition at the European Commission (1990-1991) and served as director for European Affairs in the National Security Council (1994-1995), previously directed the finance departments in General Electric (2002-2007) and Bank of America (2007).
