Brussels, 04/07/2013 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is to grant €19.6 million to Tunisia for a programme to support education, vocational training and higher education in order to promote the employment of young graduates (PEFESE). This amount represents the second instalment of aid for the programme which, according to an official source, has €65 million allocated to it. Operations of a similar nature have already given support to European sector-specific budgets aimed at the upgrading of higher education and secondary education: €78 million for the period 2005-2009. Under the Manform I and II programme between 2000 and 2007, €75 million were allocated to vocational training, and €40 million were paid out in support for reform of basic education for the period 2000 to 2005.
