Brussels, 17/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - After Latin America and North Africa, the Commission is fostering links with Russia in the framework of the missions for growth. Next will come China.
Accompanied by a delegation of representatives from the worlds of business and industry from 23 member states, representing 2.5 million employees and US$718 billion in turnover, Commissioner Antonio Tajani travelled to Moscow on 17 June to visit the Russian home affairs minister, Denis Manturov, to promote European industry and SMEs in Russia. The objective was to shore up cooperation between Brussels and Moscow in various industrial sectors of mutual interest, including machine tools and industrial machines, generic key technologies, construction and engineering, the forestry industry, raw materials, consumer goods, tourism, textiles, food and drink, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, the high-tech industry and the luxury goods industry.
