Trustev is awarded “Tech All Stars” Prize 2013

Brussels, 17/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - At the Founders Forum in London on 14 June, Neelie Kroes, the commissioner for the digital strategy, presented the European “Tech All Stars 2013” prize to the Irish start-up Trustev. The Commission awards this prize every year to an entrepreneur whose ideas are particularly innovative. Trustev, which was set up in 2012 and is based in Cork, offers online merchants an identification system for their customers which makes it possible to guarantee that they are humans rather than malicious and/or illegal bots. The two other finalists were Ecochain, which offers a unique software application which allows companies to calculate the efficiency of their products on the basis of the criterion of durability, and SnapFashion, an iPhone app which can identify items of clothing from a photograph. “My dream is a Europe where parents, professors and politicians recognise the role that tech entrepreneurs play (…). Well done to all those taking part, and especially the winners”, said Neelie Kroes. (IL/transl.fl)
