Brussels, 25/04/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 24 April, the European Commission presented the Europioneer awards at an official ceremony in Amsterdam. Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss of Soundcloud (online music platform) won awards as Europe's best digital entrepreneurs of the year, while Jon Reynolds of SwiftKey (application for facilitating tactile screens) is the leading young digital entrepreneur of the year (under age of 30). Neelie Kroes, Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, said: “Let's bring an end to the myth, the fairy tale, that all of the good ideas come from Silicon Valley”. She pointed out that the above firms have a great future in Europe and show that it is a good thing to be one's own boss. (IL/transl.jl)
