EU supported programme on cross-border cooperation

Brussels, 22/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - The committee of Cross Border Cooperation in the Mediterranean (CTMed) which brings together all the countries of the region (including Israel and Palestine but not Libya for the moment) has given the joint management of the regional programme supported by the EU to the autonomous region of Sardinia for the 2014-2020 period. The Generalitat Valenciana (Spain) also put themselves forward. The steering committee of the programme met in Rome on 5 March 2013.

The objective of the programme is to promote a sustainable and harmonious process of cooperation between the countries of the Mediterranean Rim in order to resolve common problems and promote “local potential”. The main work themes are urban development, territorial planning, climate change, local governance and cultural dialogue. (FB/transl.fl)
