06/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - Decontamination work at Strasbourg seat. A European Parliament press release on Tuesday 5 March has indicated that a “limited space” in the European Parliament building in Strasbourg has been subject to decontamination work, following tests revealing that asbestos had being released due to a mistake in the work undertaken by a subcontractor. Analyses have revealed asbestos levels that are too high (seven fibres per litre) in part of the Winston Churchill building. The incident is not expected to have any repercussions on the plenary on 11 March this year. (MB/transl.fl)
