06/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - Finnish export insurance-credit scheme gets go-ahead. On Wednesday 6 March, the European Commission said that an export insurance-credit system planned by Finland complies with EU state aid rules. The system provides risk coverage currently not provided by the private market and ensures that special tariffs apply. The Commission has authorised the measure until 31 December 2015. EU Competition Commissioner Joaquín Almunia said that the system targeted areas not covered by the market at present, like small businesses, while providing safeguards to minimise the impact on competition.
