Brussels, 15/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - A new category to crown projects that have successfully contributed to the green economy has made its appearance.
On Friday 15 February, the Commission launched the 2013 European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA). This year, a new category rewarding projects that contribute to the development of a green market and to the efficient use of resources has made its appearance alongside the awards for promoting the entrepreneurial spirit, investing in skills, improving the business environment, supporting the internationalisation of businesses, and responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship.
The competition unfolds in two stages. First of all, candidates must be selected at national level in order to be able to take part in the competition at European level. As part of the national competition, each country will, by June, select two projects that will then compete at European level. A short list will be drawn up by the European jury. All finalists of the national and European competitions will be invited to attend the awarding ceremony at the 2013 assembly of SMEs, end November in Vilnius. (EH/transl.jl)
