13/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - Further €22 million to help democratic reform. On Thursday 13 December the EU announced the launch of three programmes worth €22 million to help improve democratic governance and promote sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development in the Lebanon. The first project is worth €10 million and is expected to continue supporting efforts made by civil society and the public administration to improve the human rights situation in the country. Another project, worth €6 million, will complete the assistance provided for reforming the electoral system. A final project also worth €6 million will help to provide aid for modernising the infrastructure of Palestinian refugee camps. (CG/transl.fl)
