Brussels, 29/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 28 November, the European Commission adopted the “Eastern partnership youth window” programme, which aims to promote opportunities for cooperation between young workers, organisations from the European Union, and organisations from the Eastern Partnership countries. The cooperation should allow the skills of young people and capacities of youth organisations in the Eastern Partnership countries to be strengthened.
This programme, which is part of the “Youth in action” programme and which is allocated a total of €29 million for 2012-2013, is due to finance over 1,400 projects in which 21,000 young people and young workers will be involved. While €14 million is allocated in 2012 and €15 million for 2013, the projects will only be implemented in 2013. Particular attention will be given to disadvantaged young people living in rural or poor urban areas, the Commission stated in its press release. (CG/transl.fl)
