Brussels, 16/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - Morocco hopes to set in place a privileged partnership with the EU based on a logic of economic interdependency and joint development, said Serge Berdugo, the itinerant ambassador for the King and president of the Jewish community in Morocco, speaking in Brussels on Wednesday.
Berdugo trusts that, in 2013, support will be comparable in volume and procedure to pre-accession means allowing optimal accompaniment in line with the logic of regional policy and EU cohesion funds. Cited by the official agency MAP, he added that his country hopes the EU will confirm, in its future approach, its real commitment for a united partnership with Morocco, by providing it with strong and substantial support. The stabilisation of the European southern neighbourhood remains largely dependent on economic growth in the Maghreb area and the socio-economic development of the Saharan countries, Berdugo explained.
