Brussels, 14/11/2012 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Viviane Reding has brought forward her draft directive to increase the percentage of women on the boards of the major stock-exchange listed companies, which currently stands at 15%, to 40%. This 40% target has, however, been somewhat toned down since, while it is a compulsory target, it is not fully legally binding as the related sanctions will not necessarily be automatic nor will they have to be applied by the member states.
