Hungarian government on right track with judicial reforms

Brussels, 18/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 16 October the Venice Commission (the Council of Europe's advisory body on constitutional matters) considered that the changes brought by the Hungarian government to the laws on the judiciary are “in the right direction”. In its opinion, the commission particularly welcomed the amendments brought to the powers of the president of the National Judiciary Office (NJO), which have been curbed, a Council of Europe press release states....
