Council lifts sanctions

Brussels, 27/09/2012 (Agence Europe) - On 27 September the Council decided to lift the sanctions against the former leaders of the region of Transnistria (Moldova), putting an end to the ban on their entering EU territory. This measure will come into force on Friday 28 September when it is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

By lifting the sanctions which had been suspended in September 2010, the Council recognises “progress seen under the new leadership in...
